Moor Spa
Moor Spa

As I’m now nearly 7 months pregnant I’ve been feeling in need of some pampering and beauty treatments! I’ve been trying some of the products from Moor Spa Range. The products from Moor contain natural ingredients including moor water which is taken from therapeutic lowland moors and contains a wealth of herbs, minerals and vitamins. Moor makes a range of products which can be used every day for all your skin care needs or can be used as part of a spa facial routine.

The products from Moor come complete with a set of instructions on how to carry out the facial routine which does wonders for your skin when used once a week (or more depending on how much time you have!). I’ve got quite a few of their products so I’ve been giving myself my own mini facial to help ensure my skin looks lovely.

I’ve been using the vibrant cleanser which has a very fresh and natural scent. It removes all traces of make up from your skin without making your skin feel dry or tight. Your skin feels clean and refreshed. This can then be followed by the revitalizing exfoliator which contains tiny beads in a mositurising gel to remove any traces of dry, dull skin.

My husbands favourite part is the refining facial mask that follows as its a very dark black coloured mask which you leave on for a few minutes. He thought this looked pretty funny as I wandered around the house in it and insisted on trying to take my picture! The face mask only needs to be left on for a few minutes after which you can feel you skin tingling slightly which is as the mask draws out any impurities leaving your skin looking very clear.

I have a couple of booster products which can be applied after the mask to enhance your usual skin care regime. The soothing eye gel feels cooling and refreshing on the delicate areas of your eyes. As it’s gel based, it doesn’t feel heavy and it is also meant to help protect against wrinkles and ageing. It also helps to reduce any puffiness or redness as its packed with calming agents. The boosting repair mosituriser also feels like a gel and is used as part of the facial routine before applying a moisturiser. As a booster it acts deep in the skin to prevent water loss, ensuring your skin is lovely and soft! I finished off my spa style facial with the active moisturiser, a deeply nourishing moisturiser which protects your skin from the environment.

Zirh is making its way in the market, producing such amazing men skin care products that hardly any man can stay indifferent. Even the macho guys who consider skin care to be “girlish” have already yielded and have started to take advantage of the magnificent Zirh products.

Recently, Zirh introduced its new product line, the Warrior Collection of shower gels. This line, like all of Zirh’s others, is quite effective and indulgent, however, it carries quite an interesting concept as well.

It’s important to mention that “Zirh” is the namesake of a Sumerian warrior. Perhaps this is the very reason that Zirh products are designed with the warrior man in mind and indulges not only their senses, but their psyche as well.

The Warrior Collection was designed to further develop the Zirh brand dynamic, said Zirh Holdings President Brian Robinson. We are constantly looking to identify categories, products and concepts which resonate with the male consumer. In the case of the Warrior Collection, we wanted to create an innovative and original collection that evoked a blend of creativity and masculinity.

The shower gels in this line feature the greatest warriors and leaders of ancient times, such as Julius Caesar, Charlemagne, Cyrus, Alexander the Great and Ulysses. The curious novelty of the shower gels is that each one is formulated with natural ingredients which originate from the very region in which the warrior reigned.

Fire Sculpted Fine Silver
Fire Sculpted Fine Silver

Two of my favorite techniques to use in jewelry making are fusing and sculpting abstract shapes with wire. A while back, I was experimenting with ways to combine the two, and came up with a technique I call fire sculpting.

It’s a little sculpting wire, a little fusing/melting, followed by more sculpting, and I think the results are really beautiful and interesting.

The photo on the left shows two of my fire sculpted pendants and an earring, all made from fine silver. I’m in the process of listing these and some other similar pieces in my etsy shop (the first one is already there).

One thing I love about working in this style is that each thing I make is truly one of a kind. Because part of the process is out of my control, I’m surprised and fascinated (though not always in a good way) by the results. Making pieces for this series is alternately frustrating and exciting, and makes me want to continue pushing myself as a designer.
