- Radiant Red Collection
John Frieda has created a range of products developed for specific hair colours- ‘Sheer Blonde’ ‘Brilliant Brunette’ and ‘Radiant Red’. These ranges aim to stop hair colour from fading, and intensify the colour while maintaining healthy, shiny hair.
From the Radiant Red Collection, I tried out the Colour Magnifying shampoo and conditioner. This product claims that by using ‘Light Enhancers TM’ it will ‘transform red strands so that they attract more light and look instantly more vibrant’.
The shampoo and conditioner has a neutral smell, but an intense red colour- so make sure you wash it out thoroughly if you use white towels!
The shampoo lathered really well, and so I was pleased that I didn’t have to use too much to wash my hair- considering that it is extremely thick, I normally have to use a sizeable amount! The shampoo gave a lovely squeaky clean feel to my hair, and left it feeling quite soft.
I followed it up with the Radiant Red conditioner, that although says it contains pomegranate and plum extracts, it didn’t have the fruity aroma I was expecting. As I have some dry ends, I used a generous amount of the conditioner and left it in for a few minutes.

- gleaming hair
Having healthy, thick and lustrous hair is the desire of any girl and woman.
Hair can be of different types: straight, wavy, curly or kinky. Straight hair is often hard to hold a curl; it tends to be oily, but hard to damage. Wavy hair is resistant to styling and tends to be frizzy. Curly hair is often thick and also tends to be frizzy. Meanwhile, kinky hair is tightly coiled and very fragile.
Nowadays, having good quality hair has become an arduous task. There are different factors that spoil and damage our hair.
Hair dying dries out our hair and diminishes its gleam and glare. Shampoos containing various chemicals make our hair fall out. Constant hair dryer usage badly damages our hair tips.
What to do?
We should learn methods of protecting our hair from damage.
For this purpose the best solution may be natural hair care products.
You may use essential oils. They are extracted from various parts of plants, such as the leaves, flowers, bark, seeds, and fruits. The oils should not be applied directly to your skin. Essential oils must be mixed with a carrier oil, so that oils can be safely “carried” to your skin, minimizing any unnecessary irritation. For achieving the best results with special oils, you should consult with a doctor.
There’s another good hair care method that implements raw eggs, and after using it you can have beautiful hair. Raw eggs can be used for making hair conditioners. The properties of egg create a needed impact on your dull and dry hair. And your hair will regenerate itself. The texture of your hair is maintained by the presence of important elements. Mix 2 egg yolks with 2 teaspoons of castor oil. Then massage this mixture into your hair. Leave it for some time and then rinse it thoroughly. This is an easy but effective hair care method.

- Organic Facial Care
Various environmental conditions affect our skin in different ways, particularly our facial skin. Unlike other parts of the body, the face is usually uncovered. Sunny, cold or windy weather, not to mention pollution, can damage delicate facial skin, and thus we would need proper, soothing treatment. But before you make a decision, consider organic facial care. It may be the best, harmless way to reduce the negative impact on your facial skin.
Perhaps you know that fragrance and artificial color-free organic facial care products cost no less. We can still maintain our facial care by avoiding expensive facial care products. Homemade facial exfoliants and hydrating facial masks can easily replace any other facial care product.
Use hydrating facial masks when you suffer from skin dehydration. The condition causes thinning of the skin and promotes the development of fine lines and wrinkles. It also causes premature aging, flaking, scaling and itching. A hydrating facial mask is a direct way to restore and maintain normal skin moisture. The mask penetrates the deeper layers of the skin, simultaneously nourishing and rejuvenating them. The mask, using combined gentle and moisturizing agents, also feeds the skin with effective antioxidants–a group of compounds that protect the body from the formation of free-radicals. Those are formed by direct exposure to sunlight and pollution.

- dark skin
Nowadays having dark skin is very popular. Many of us who have light skin want to look tanned. So to darken our skin tone, we sunbathe or go to a solarium.
However, some people, such as native Australians and African-Americans, are naturally dark skinned.
Skin darkness is conditioned by the increased amount of melanin in the skin. Melanin is the pigment that protects the skin from sunlight and slows down the aging process. It makes black people look younger than light-skinned people.
Black skin requires as much care as any other skin. Different types of skin need their own skin care products. Black women should find out what black skin care products may have the best effect on their dark skin, and only then take the first steps in treating the skin.
Black skin care sometimes differs from that for Caucasians and Asians since a black skin care product needs heavy oil. It penetrates deep into the skin and leaves skin healthy, but not abundantly oily.
Black skin is highly allergic. Thus, it is always beneficial to use natural products rather than chemical.
Dark skinned women should not use skin lighteners or bleaching creams containing steroids. These creams can cause permanent skin damage. The skin will obtain permanent redness, thinning and blood vessel streaks. They should also avoid skin lighteners or bleaching creams containing mercury.

- Copper Earrings
Continue from Common Metals Used in Jewelry Making Part 1
Copper can be used for many jewelry applications. Because it oxidizes relatively quickly, it’s a good metal to try with patinas, and is also often enameled on. Some people believe that copper jewelry has health benefits, such as aiding people with arthritis pain, while others wear it for its rich, warm color. If copper jewelry has not been coated with something to prevent oxidation, it will need to be cleaned and/or polished frequently in order to keep it from turning green or black.
Brass is another non-precious metal that is often used in jewelry designs. It is an alloy metal and there are several different formulations for brass. It is sometimes sold shiny and other times with an oxidized “antique” finish.
Stainless Steel – steel, particularly stainless steel, is becoming popular as a jewelry metal. It is very hard, and melts at a very high temperature. In fact, a lot of jewelry tools are made from steel. I haven’t worked with steel very much except a bit in wire form. Memory wire made from steel, which is sold in coils for making bracelets, necklaces, and rings, is fun for stringing beads onto because it “remembers” its shape. Very thin steel wire can be used for weaving, knitting, or crocheting wire. Many metal artists are using steel sheet to fabricate designs as well, and mixing it with more traditional jewelry metals like silver and gold.
Platinum – of the commonly used metals in jewelry making, platinum is the hardest and the most expensive. I’ve personally never worked with it, so I don’t know much more than that. It has a lovely silver color and is popular for wedding and engagement rings, and high-end jewelry with precious stones such as diamonds.
