International Stem Cell Corporation, www.internationalstemcell.com, announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Lifeline Skin Care Inc., has achieved positive results in testing the safety of persons in their cosmetics and is moving Cosmetics agreements with Enterprises Ltd. for the manufacture of three cosmetic products. These developments allow Lifeline plan skincare launch a cosmetics line in late summer or autumn of 2010.

This has been a particularly grey and rainy winter in San Francisco, so I’ve been enjoying more than average soaks in the tub. One of the most luxurious features of our cozy Victorian home is the pedestal soaking tub. It is the perfect length and depth for renewing, relaxing and melting the chills of winter away. To supplement these bath soaks I am always on the look out for a lovely smelling ultra bubbly bath foam.

The Botantics Luxurious Bath Elixir is meant to heal and relax tired muscles as well as relieve every day stresses. Perfect if you are sitting at a computer all day, like me! It contains Iceland moss as a main ingredient. The label also mentions that the ingredients are authenticated by Kew Royal Botanic Gardens.

Low-fat yogurt		Low-fat yogurt. This creamy snack packs a lot of vitamin A that takes care of your skin’s health. On top of promoting good vision, vitamin A promotes cell growth and repairs skin damage. It is also said to reduce the production of sebum, one of the main triggers of acne. Other good sources of vitamin A are green leafy vegetables such as spinach and broccoli – toss them up in a salad or mix them with your favorite entrée. Oranges		Oranges. We’ve been told that foods rich in vitamin C help keep the sniffles and coughs away. Vitamin C is the key to the production of collagen, a type of protein that keeps the skin strong and flexible. Grapefruits, guavas, lychees and kiwis are better and cheaper alternatives to collagen injections. Add these juicy fruits to your daily meals to keep your skin looking young and firm.
Berries		Berries. The black, blue and red variety ranks as the highest source of anti-oxidants, a group of vitamins and minerals that eat up free radicals. Applying green tea topically can help protect the skin from sun damage. Another reason to love green tea is L-theanine, an amino acid that has a calming and soothing effect on the body. Since it causes breakouts and makes your skin age faster, stress is one of your skin’s greatest enemies so the less stress you have, the younger your skin will be.

oily skin

Skin problems are quite common today–polluted air and the stresses of everyday life have their reflection on the condition of our skin, making it oily or too dry and scaly or causing other problems.

Oily skin ages slower, but it usually looks tough, greasy and too shiny and causes discomfort to its owner. Besides, such skin usually has large pores that easily get dirty. So, to lessen the problems caused by oily skin, you should follow a number of simple rules.

Oily skin must be cleaned regularly, not less than two times a day. It’s good to wash your face with hot water and soap. Cultured milk products and oat flakes that can be very useful for cleansing. Oily skin also needs moisturizing and nourishing creams.

It’s also good to apply whitening and cleansing masks two times a week. Here are some recipes of homemade face masks from fruits and natural ingredients:

1. A banana mask. For this mask you’ll need one banana, a tablespoon of honey and some juice of an orange (you can also use a lemon instead). Mash or blend the banana and mix it with honey and add the juice. Apply this mixture onto your face and wash it with warm water after 10-15 minutes.

Bananas are a rich source of vitamins and nutrients. They will soften your skin, remove the dead cells and moisturize it.

2. A strawberry mask. You’ll need a half cup strawberries, a half tablespoon of honey, 1 egg white and a half tablespoon squeezed lemon juice. Just mix all these ingredients and apply the mixture onto your face. Wash the mask after 10-15 minutes.

Strawberries are very good against acne, and the lemon helps to whiten your skin and remove the excess oils from your face.
